Default Online play for Gamecube?

Could Nintendo possibly be extending the life of the GameCube by adding an online expansion kit for it?

There already are online adapters. Haven't you ever heard of Phantasy Star Online? Granted, it's the only Gamecube game that's officially supported online, but I'm just saying both broadband and narrowband internet adapters are already out for the 'cube.

But will they ever expand the games that are online? I'm just wondering cause People who own PS2 and X-Box are always telling me how much fun online games are and it burns me that GC doesn't have that much.

He doesn't have to wait for the new consoles. He'll be online with the DS.

DS doesn't have online capabilities, just Bluetooth technology. At least, I think.
