Happy Halloween!
But don't be partying past midnight; that is, if you live in the german state of Bavaria. Dr. Beckstein, the secretary of the interior there and member of the ruling
Christian Social Union party is planing a new law to reregulate "Feiertagsruhe" (holliday-silence) and introduce a "Tanzverbot" (dancing-ban) for November 1st, starting at 0:00h. Beckstein saw the need for the new law, because November 1st is Allerheiligen, a christian holliday and as such a statewide holliday (nobody is allowed to work or open shops) in the states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Northrhein-Westfalia, Rheinland-Pfalz and the Saarland. Now, the solemnity of Allerheiligen must not be compromised by people dancing that day, hence the need for the ban. [

Since I have just been watching a movie with Tom Cruise on TV, did you know, that people belonging to Scientology are banned from working for the government in Bavaria?
