Beckstein saw the need for the new law, because November 1st is Allerheiligen, a christian holliday and as such a statewide holliday (nobody is allowed to work or open shops) in the states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Northrhein-Westfalia, Rheinland-Pfalz and the Saarland. Now, the solemnity of Allerheiligen must not be compromised by people dancing that day, hence the need for the ban. [story]

Why do rabidly religious people believe that everyone should live by the rules they live by?

I thought it was a thread about the incoming constitution and the religious staff going with it. Instead of that, that's a local exemple. Too narrow. Democracy thinks universally.
Sects are generally banned from governmental positions in democracy.
