I think you should try it without the guides first. It makes it a lot more fun that way. I did use them from my NP on Ocarina of Time the first time through, but only when I got stuck. When I get it, I'm not gonna use guides, just ruins it. Half the fun is figuring stuff out. After you beat it, then you should use guides to find cool hints and secrets.

I haven't used the guide...yet. Right now I'm stuck trying to break the rock at some entrance. I think I need a bomb bag...

I don't approve of using a game guide, especially when I'm first playing through a game.
