Nomad Jukebox Zen XTRA
................. is beginning to be a Piece of Shit for me.
Back in January I purchased the 30GB Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen XTRA, a month after that purchase my headphone jack had fell inside the unit because it wasnt properly soldered right.
I called Creative Labs and got an RMA number, sent it in that same day OVERNIGHT, the next day they replaced the unit and sent me another one second day air, talk about great repair service!
Now guess what, I accidently dropped the unit today and my headphone jack freakin broke again, now I can only hear music out of one headphone speaker and thats if im not moving. It's an ok idea to see laptop hard drives in these things, but they seriously need to take this product back to the Research & Developement lab and just redesign it from ground up, especially where they have the headphone jack located. They clearly didnt make this product with a busy body person in mind.

It's not their fault that you have butterfingers. ;)
Only kidding, I feel your pain. I'm forever breaking things because I drop them.

but still, its a poorly designed product, if every time this damn thing just hits the ground and the headphone jack easily comes aloose, then I might as well just invest in another MP3 Player

If you have a warranty, you know one of those 2 year things from best buy, you dont need to care, your causing them damage by making them replace it. So its kinda like revenge for making a crappy product.

Haha, I did that with my cell phone. It's screen started to mess up so I broke it on purpose and they replaced it for free.
With what Dave said, it wasn't BestBuy in my case either. You just gotta check and see what deals the product came with. Like for me, I had a 12 month warranty.

Heh, I got a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra for Christmas this year, so basically we've had it for just about the same amount of time, and mine is still kicking in high gear. I've dropped it countless times, and it's never failed. I'm incredibly happy with it. You must've gotten a crappy one, because they're not all like that.

But everything apart from the ergonomics are ok, right?
I wouldn't buy a new player just because everytime you drop something it breaks, that should be expected with anything you buy.

Tommy, let me correct myself again. This damned thing costed me almost $300, and at the distance its being accidently dropped whether im jogging or if its sitting on my desk, and it drops like barely drops and the headphone jacks snaps out of the socket that its supposed to soldered in, is just simply unacceptable.
And thats why im sending this unit back and when they replace it im going to sale it for bout $200 and buy me something thats better in design to handle busy body people.
