"The fact a 7-year-old can wreak so much havoc in such a short time, it's unbelievable. In my day he'd get a big boot up the arse," center director Rex Neindorf told Reuters by phone.

This makes me yearn for the good ol' days. When I was this young I would've gotten a flogging for doing something like this and I had it easy at the time. I know my kid neighbour then got harsher disciplinary treatment but still not what I'd call abuse.

Too many parents are trying too hard to be friends with their kids instead of being their parents. Also, some kids have their parents convinced that a spanking is abuse. I asked a police officer about that one time and the comment was if more parents spanked their kids and provided better discipline, there would be fewer problems in society.

i think spanking is not really advisable for parents to do it to their children. because most children that are being spanked have the tendency to become emotionally problematic and will even cause them to have a rebellion. it is just important for the parents to have their children disciplined by talking to them as the children's parents.

The kids these days do give lot of tough times to their parents. Rod has never done a wonder, I feel communication is very important. Kids can be handled in a much better way if they are talked to.Parents have to take up role of friend as well. I do loose temper at times, but my hubby has a wonderful attitude in handling the kids.

that is good sanju. i really agree that we should always try to talk to them. because children who are very open to their parents will have a positive attitude towards everything. we as parents need to guide our children and let them learn from their mistakes in a good way.

The disciplined routine is must for kids. I don't mean bashing up of kids every time, but kids should be aware of the rights and wrongs very clearly.Give all love and pamper them but at the same time they should be made aware of the moral values.
