You must mean 'Not a penny more not...' by Jeffrey Archer. I still remember that one. A stock scammer gets played by his victims. I like Archer's stuff. He's got a similar style with Sidney Sheldon. Sheldon's works has more twists.
I read lots of books by various authors so I have lots of favorites. One I always reread when I can is Watership Down by Richard Adams. Clancy's Jack Ryan series are good. In the fantasy genre, I like Robert Jordan's long Wheel of Time series. I read a lot of other genres but most of what I read's fiction.
