Cant argue about the graphics though.. Those graphics and art is one of the best...actually..the best ive ever seen..in a game/movie ofcourse. And the songs from All FF series kick ass.

I can't tell wether the CG work is better in Spirits Within (Or that episode from the Animatrix) or Advent Children. In Advent Chidlren the action is definitely cooler though.

What is FF about?

That is like the toughest question there can be about FF in general. Personally, I never played any FF before part 7. Though from 7 and after I played each part. It's the first 3D one, someday I'll play the others.
Anyways, each FF game has a different story and characters. Usually these games are set in different times and places. The only FF game ever to have the same characters is FF X-2. Which is the first FF sequel in a way. It still doesn't have the same main character, two girls from part X (10) and a new character are the leads.
Usually in a FF game, something is going to happen to the world or something like that, and you are one of the few people able to save it. Each game has a number of important characters, the story is very essential and is what really makes me want to finish any game. FF games are RPGs (Role_Playing_Games). In each one there are random battles. After part 9 they started to be a pain in the ass. Thankfully, part 12 won't have any.
Anyways, FF games are great. If the graphics aren't the most important thing in the world to you, I suggest trying part 8. Then if you liked it, part 7. Both are on the PS1. At it's time, 8 was the top in graphics. Its FMV sequences still hold up well. Some would suggets trying part 10 on the PS2, but it's not that memorable story wise.
But I heard you don't have a PS2, or do you ?

Even though I love every second of the trailer, I still want to see the whole movie before I say it's going to be great, this & that, yada yada yada. Animation can go a long way, but if they f' up the story, then it will go down along with FF: The Movie as the biggest dissapintment for Square.

IT IS NOT PSP. The game is an action game on PS2. Though the PSP can boost some kick ass graphics too.
Another, if square screw up Advent Children (Highly unlikely) I will kill them personally.
