They had a a Handheld known as "Nomad" as well.
It played Genesis games, which was awesome.
Pity the battery life was so bad. AC adapters are a must if you have one.
Both handhelds were suberb, showcasing technology far ahead of Gameboy. Battery life really the only drawback.

Hmm, guess they're gone now. Personally I was never interested in a hand-held until the PSP was anounced. I'm not a very handheld kinda guy. Though I wouldn't mind playing FF 1 & 2 for example on a handheld system.

They shouldnt have been stupid and abandoned, yet tooken the project in and made adjustments to battery life and then BAM! they are the biggest handheld game company in america/world. Ofcourse now its Nintendo..
Nintendo is more famous for its handhelds then its Gamecube.

Yeah, they had the Game Gear and the Nomad, though they were massive, which is why they, especially the Nomad, didn't do too well. And the battery life sucked.

I don't think size is a huge factor, The PSP is rather large, but people are still interested in it.
I think it's more Price and Battery life.

I think the DS, especially with the new look is big as well. With two screens no less. What will really succeed (PSP or DS) depends on the games, and the hardware I guess. Of course also how the system feels in your hands. So far it seems the PSP is a winner.

It's price, Graphics, games available/coming out, baterry life, portability, and other accessories/colors sometimes...
And for back then, The game gear I think was a pretty small (from a person from that time point of view).

Hmmm, I guess those are esential too. I don't think sony will mess the battery up though. I personally don't care about it's size. It's not that big. Besides, the screen is great.

The way the DC fell sort of reminds me of the 3DO. I thought they were both going to be around for a long time, but I was wrong.
