Probably Diablo 2, just because it is so much fun, free, and the kind of game you can keep coming back to. I still play it, albeit quite infrequently (maybe an hour a week). It's a classic, and a great one at that.

My brother playes Diablo 2 non stop, And he hasnt got a job so he is on it all the time!! He just doesnt seem to get bored with it??

Chrono Trigger... classic.

Also Fallout and Baldur's Gate. They were so open-ended.
