i hear that grudge was 10x worse than the ring, which was also ass. so i dont plan on ever seeing this movie, not even renting it, but if it is on TV, then i might watch it, but only if it is the only thing on.

Note the user reviews, most people (me included) prefer the first. The original is also R rated unlike the remake which is PG. I suggest getting one with japanese voice-overs and english subtitles (a rule with anything japanese, never watch the dubbed versions as they suck). Or just get the DVD and have both options.

I would recommend "Ringu" (which had the american remake a couple years ago: "The Ring").
"Audition" is truly awesome. Just make sure you don't know anything about it before watching it (if you're going to that is).
Also, I generally recommend Japanese cinema. If you ever want advice on good movies let me know.

They said it sucked cause they used every cheesy horror movie scene and sceme throughout the movie. Like phone call at night bla bla bla*

I saw the movie and it had a great scare factor but it did not have a plot and I think it sucked overall.
