I'm not a consistent popcorn-and-soda movie watcher; it depends on how long the movie is, what time I last ate, and whether or not the AC in the theater is too cold. I once had to sit through an hour of
Titanic after downing my popcorn and Coke rather quickly - the popcorn was the small bag, and the Coke was the large - and because the AC was really chilly and the ship was filling up with water...well, I tried to hold out as long as I could but had to excuse myself to go to the john.
Another thing that affects my choice is the prices. If I can afford popcon and a drink, I buy both. Otherwise, just the soda.
