10 Signs You Need a Break from Gaming
When you’re a die-hard gamer, sometimes it’s hard to know when to just put the controller down and back away slowly. Yes, as hard as it is to believe, there are times when you need to take a break from gaming! Are you unsure if that time has arrived for you? Pause the game and read these ten signs before hacking and slashing another monster!
Sign #10. You forget you can’t use the Wii controller in your hand to grab the bag of chips sitting on the kitchen counter that have been beckoning to you for the last twenty minutes.
Sign #9. You begin to think you can pilot any vehicle in the real world, without any kind of training, just like in the game Forza 2.
Sign #8. You buy a mini-fridge, fill it with soda and junk food and then sit it beside your couch so you don’t have to worry about getting shot in your own spawn point.
Sign #7. You’ve changed the message on your answering machine to the following: “Sorry, I can’t come to the phone right now, but I’ll get back to you as soon as I beat Rainbow Six: Vegas.”
Sign #6. Even when you go on vacation you take along your trusty video game console and a lap top to ensure you have internet so you can still play with your friends.
Sign #5. You’ve actually called technical support to tell them how awesome the newest game for their console is and you applaud the operator.
Sign #4. You have five different gamer tags on Xbox 360 so you can play with five different sets of people…depending on what mood you’re in.
Sign #3. You answer to your gamer tag or character name better than you answer to your real name.
Sign #2. You will resort to trading in your little sister’s favorite DVDs just to get the newly released game the day it hit’s the shelves.
Sign #1. You will shamelessly sing (off-key and loudly) “We Are the Champions” by Queen at the end of a match, just to rub it in your opponents faces.
If you can answer “Yes” to any of the above ten signs, you should save your game immediately, turn the video game console off, and find alternative entertainment. However, if you find turning off your game too difficult to bear, yell for your girlfriend in the next room…she’ll come do it for you!
